Podcast #9: Schedules are for pussies (also, Merry Christmas)

Hello there! Only six months late with our next podcast. Damn we’re good! In our defense I think we actually recorded about three podcasts that never made it on to the site. That is largely my fault, but of course I generally blame Bug for most things.

We’ve got a special Christmassy, end-of-yeary episode for you tonight! Adam and Bug start us off by talking about the new Zelda title ‘Is there anybody out there that still cares about this franchise’ ‘Skyward Sword’, moving on to Alice: Madness Returns (six months late, just like the podcast) bringing back platforming, Saints Row’s magical past time of running around naked and beating people with sex toys, we have an argument about Skylanders and then everything is rounded off nicely with a chat about best and worst titles of 2011. There’s also some wickedly obvious purchase advice in there somewhere.

Achievement Unlocked! Podcast #9

We might do another one next week, I’ve learned not to make promises.

Thanks for listening, Merry Christmas, and a happy fucking new year sheeple!

Podcast #8: THIS TITLE INTENTIONALLY LEFT BLANK

Salutations, fair citizens! We’re doing well with this now, we’re on our third consecutive week of podcastin’ and it’s looking good that we’ll get to four. Keep on trucking! We’re suspiciously missing any serious arguments and rifts this week, but there’s banter a-plenty as well as a metric feck-load of game talking. Ya know, as you would expect from a gaming podcast. Tony is now a permanent fixture in the line up, and all is looking swell in AUPodcastLand (an actual country, as of five minutes ago).

Under the microscope this week is a plethora of games old, new and sorta recent. Bug leads us in with some talk about what IPs of old we’d like to resurrected and given a second chance in life. We’ve got San Francisco Rush 2049, Crazy Taxi, Beetle Adventure Racing, Body Harvest, Hydrothunder and, perhaps most importantly, Jet Force Gemini, bitches! We also poo-poo some series’ that fall squarely into the category of “what’s dead should stay dead”.

Moving on Adam gives us a hearty segment on Ocarina Of Time 3DS, and we also find the time to discuss Killzone 3, LA Noire, Heavy Rain and Hunted: Demon’s Forge.

It’s a jam packed episode, full of witticisms and swearing (from me, as usual) but suspiciously little to find offensive, though I’m sure you’ll all find something in there to hate me for! Hit up the link below, as always you’ll require both flash and javascript, or just hit right click and save as to grab a copy for later!

And spot the burp to win a mega-awesome-super-dee-duper-no-prize!

Also, I keep saying this, so let me be a little clearer this time:

If you’re not following us on both Facebook and Twitter, what the hell, man!?

Achievement Unlocked! Podcast #8

Bonus content (won’t make sense ’til you’ve listened)!

We’re not quite sure what the actual fuck is going on here, or just how high he was when he did it.

I just don't know anymore :(

Podcast #7: A Bad Man Goes To War

What?

Another episode? So soon?

YES! E3’s over for another year, but there has certainly been a few big reveals for gamers in the past week. The biggest of which was the unveiling of A virtual Disneyland game on Kinect… No, I’m kidding.

But seriously though: The Wii-U.

The new Nintendo game-changer is put under the microscope and given a good going over by the guys, to judge whether we think it’ll be, well, ANY GOOD! The choice of name, the dinner plate they call a controller, and the stupidity of Nintendo are all discussed.

After the verbal assault on Nintendo, we move on to talk about Microsoft’s conference, and how almost EVERY game they demoed or announced was for the Kinect. Some looking quite good, some just downright laughable (See: Disneyland game), the conference was hit and miss. We babble on about how much we love Halo games, after the announcement of both Halo 4 and Halo: CE Anniversary Edition. Sony’s next generation portable,
the PSVita, gets a look in as well.

This extra long podcast is rounded off nicely by taking a trip down memory lane, mentioning the great games of yester-year, with special attention to the games of Rare. So listen in, folks! I’m sure there’s something for everyone in this ‘cast (Unless you’re a Nintendo Fanboy), and be sure to tune in next time, which might be sooner than you think!

Podcast #5: “We’re back, babeh”

Hallo! So, I guess we’re back. It’s been an interesting nine months during which we’ve been two busy / lazy to do any podcastin’, but we’re back! During out hiatus a lot has changed, I’m now on a Mac (gasp), Matt is at Uni  (again), Adam is steadily releasing his own online comic, and at night all three of us don masks and become mysterious vigilantes (that last parts not true).

So here it is, enjoy the new episode. Topics this time include new Sonic 4, Sonic Colours, Fable 3, Halo Reach and the future of video gaming as we know it. As always, click to listen in the page with our snazzy inline player, or right click to download. It will also be available soon on iTunes when Apple aggregates it. A process which can take up to 24 hours.

Achievement Unlocked! Podcast #5

During our time away, we did record an episode which never made it on here. Referred to internally as the lost episode and featuring Tony Walker in lieu of Bug, we’re working hard to dig it up for your listening pleasure.

Stay beautiful.

Podcast #2: “Doin’ Santa”

Here we go, Podcast #2!

I’m doing the update again because a certain Mr Wheavil has disappeared off the face of the frakkin’ earth and therefore is unable to post it.

This week we talk about Halo 3, ODST, hand-held and cell phone gaming and a host of other crap in between. We hope you enjoy it. I’m only slightly offensive this week.

Some good news though. Achievement Unlocked has been approved for the iTunes Store! We are now officially online and mobile. You can find it here (opens iTunes).
